CloudSigma Joins Forces with Hydro66 to Deliver a 100% Green Cloud Solution

Boden, Sweden, August 13, 2020 – CloudSigma is proud to announce a new partnership with Hydro66 – a green cloud infrastructure company located in Sweden. The two companies, together with HPE, have launched the world’s lowest carbon footprint cloud – the H66cloud.

Hydro66 benefits from some of the EU’s lowest cost 100% green energy. It provides cost-effective cloud and colocation solutions for enterprise, systems integrators, and others such as education bodies and startups. The new partnership with CloudSigma will allow Hydro66 to provide public cloud IaaS services to customers out of their award-winning data center located in Boden, Sweden.

“The launch of H66cloud is a milestone and a new chapter for the company as we extend our capabilities by providing a complete end to end green cloud infrastructure for our customers, partners, and sales pipeline.”David Rowe, CEO @ Hydro66

Key Value Added Services

Hydro66’s facility is purpose-built with the environment in mind in every way. It uses locally generated clean green hydropower, completely free of CO₂ emissions. The company’s green approach is consistent throughout, from the site selection and the renewable hydroelectric power source through to the data center design and the cloud platform itself.

Furthermore, thanks to the partnership with CloudSigma, Hydro66 will be able to differentiate itself even further not only in Europe, but also globally, since the new offering will provide a number of unique value propositions.

“The H66cloud platform will significantly add to our capabilities in traditional colocation at our Boden facility. It helps us spread the green cloud infrastructure message further afield.” David Rowe, CEO @ Hydro66

First, H66cloud aims to help customers make significant savings with a number of innovative features. Those include true pay per use, application portability, and removing vendor lock-in.

Next, it will deliver direct chat support, 24 x 7 x 365. The support is available for all clients, with an average response time of less than 30 seconds. The service also supports any operating systems and facilitates an easy migration to and from the platform as required.

In addition, Hydro66 plans to add more specialized business requirements to the H66cloud platform. Those include high-performance specialist cloud options optimized for blockchain, rendering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications.

The joint venture with CloudSigma aims at serving the rapidly expanding cloud market in Northern Europe. Thus, it will be a valuable enhancement to CloudSigma’s current portfolio of European locations, which currently include Frankfurt in Germany, Zürich & Geneva in Switzerland and Dublin in Ireland.

“We are very pleased to welcome Hydro66 to our cloud-as-a-service partner program. Hydro66’s combination of unparalleled environmental credentials and deep experience in building compelling customer solutions is the perfect fit for us. Together with HPE, we are able to offer a fully integrated service portfolio that includes a wide range of both PaaS and IaaS functionality. By leveraging HPE’s unique infrastructure platform, we are able to target key use cases very competitively such as big data and HPC computing in which both Hydro66 and CloudSigma have significant experience and credibility already.”Robert Jenkin, CEO @ CloudSigma

HPE Partnership

The new H66cloud platform is powered by HPE’s latest generation hardware running on 10GigE infrastructure. The servers offer high industry standards, delivering exceptional performance, both from compute and storage perspective. This has been made possible thanks to CloudSigma’s successful partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

CloudSigma has been a part of the HPE Partner Ready Program since 2017. The collaboration enables leading IT service providers, data centers and telecommunication operators around the globe deliver best-in-class cloud services to end-customers via the cloud-as-a-service model (CaaS). Furthermore, CloudSigma is a member of the HPE-sponsored Cloud28+ community. With over 1200  members and 85,000 services available, Cloud28+ is dedicated to accelerating enterprise cloud adoption.

About Hydro66

Most of us agree that the planet could do with a little help right now. Yet it seems fairly obvious that the data universe continues to grow and consume ever more resources. And of course, we are all conscious of value for money.

The team at Hydro66 are on a mission to create a new benchmark for sustainable and responsible cloud infrastructure.  We chose Boden in Sweden to create a template for best practice, the greenest, and the most power-efficient cloud infrastructure we could build. Boden is “probably the best” location for a green data center in the world. More than plenty of hydropower, perfect climate for cooling all those hot servers, natural electricity grid redundancy and reliability, and super-connected.

We hope you will join our ultra-green cloud infrastructure quest and help the planet breathe a little easier.

Born in Boden, CO₂ not included.
