At trade shows, one of the most common questions people get asked is where they live. Well, for CloudSigma this month, the best answer may be “on an airplane!” April was jam-packed with events as our executive team traveled all over the U.S., speaking at some of the most influential conferences and networking with the biggest thought leaders in the industry.
Our Chief Enterprise Solutions Officer, Micheál Higgins, kicked off the month at Storage Networking World Spring in Orlando, Florida. While there, Micheál not only presented on the value of solid-state drives (SSDs) for IaaS environments, but he spoke with attendees about the launch of our all-SSD public cloud offering. See his video interview with Curtis Preston of Truth in IT above.
Meanwhile, our CEO, Robert Jenkin, was on the west coast, attending Cloud Connect in Santa Clara.
In mid-April, our conference tour continued on, with our next stop at Las Vegas for the National Association of Broadcasters Show (NAB). Similar to last year, we made a big splash at the event, bringing a team along to network with other conference-goers and share knowledge about the latest in cloud developments for the media and entertainment industry. Robert also took to the stage while there, speaking about how the media industry can leverage the public cloud’s collaboration benefits to tackle problems of dispersed locations, high-data volumes and project-based workflows. With the help of customer, Gorilla Technology, we spoke with the media and analyst community about the value of our Media Services Ecosystem, which allows companies like Gorilla to meet rapidly escalating content demands in an increasingly global industry.
Robert concluded CloudSigma’s U.S. event tour at the Open Networking Summit (ONS), where he spoke on the panel, State of SDN, as well as alongside Mat Mathews of Plexxi, a provider of affinity-driven network solutions, in the session OpenFlow-based SDN for the Data Centers. During their session, Mat and Robert took a deeper look into the CloudSigma/Plexxi use case and touched on the challenges and solutions for SDN in cloud-scale data centers.
After a busy month, we have no plans of slowing down and are already looking ahead to a few exciting upcoming announcements, as well as speaking at GigaOM Structure Europe this September in London. Check back for more updates!
